Made-up facts and sources
An AI is built to answer fluently, not to doubt. A confident tone therefore says nothing about whether the answer is correct.
Vera has the answer of one AI checked by other AI models. They check the facts, look for weak spots in the reasoning and find the sources. You see what was improved and why, before you use the answer in advice, a decision or a case file.
AI models write fluently and confidently, even when a fact is outdated, incomplete or made up. These errors are called AI hallucinations. To find them, the facts, the reasoning and the sources each have to be checked separately.
An AI is built to answer fluently, not to doubt. A confident tone therefore says nothing about whether the answer is correct.
If your question contains a mistake, a single AI will often simply build on it instead of pointing it out.
Checking AI answers yourself means looking up sources, keeping tabs open and comparing answers from different AIs side by side. Vera does that work for you.
A check can only be trusted if it is clear where it stops.
Vera checks AI answers for professional work. Other AI models check the facts, ask critical questions about the reasoning and look for current sources. You then see every improvement, every disagreement and every source.
Vera is not an AI model of its own and does not guarantee that an answer is correct. Vera does not replace your professional expertise. You decide what to do with the answer, and you remain responsible for it.
AI verification with Vera takes five steps, and each step is done by a different AI model. So no model gets the last word without another one having checked it. You decide which steps take part.
Claude writes a first answer to your question, using the documents you have released.
GPT looks for facts that are wrong, context that is missing and statements that contradict each other.
Grok reads along as the other side: which assumptions are weak, and which counter-arguments are missing?
Perplexity finds current sources for the main claims, if you switch on the source check.
Vera combines the improvements and sources into one answer. Every check remains visible.
You can review every step: what the fact check found, what the counter-reading criticised, which sources were found and what changed in the final answer. Including when the models disagree.
Vera checks each claim on its own, instead of trusting how the first answer phrased it.
Weak assumptions, missing context and counter-arguments are named and stay in the overview.
You see the sources, improvements and disagreements themselves, not a single reliability score with no way of knowing how it was reached.
Vera Office is a workspace in your browser for Word files (.docx). You ask AI to summarise, review or edit a document. That AI document analysis goes through the same checks as any other answer, and sensitive data is shielded first.
A summary or review of your document goes through the same checks as any other answer.
The AI does not simply change your document. Every change (replace, rewrite, insert, delete) goes into a limited plan, and that plan is checked automatically first. If you want to replace the whole document, Vera asks for your confirmation first. You can undo every change.
For each task, Vera records which version of the document was used, which privacy check and which AI steps took place, what it cost and that the real data was restored afterwards. So you can trace later how a text came about.
Working with confidential documents? The Privacy Shield replaces names, addresses and other sensitive data with placeholders before an external AI model sees the text. This is called pseudonymisation. The AI model works with the replaced text; you get the answer back with the real data.
Names, addresses, dates, case numbers, medical data and who has which role are detected in your shielded Vera environment and replaced where needed.
Before anything goes to an AI model, Vera checks whether any real data is still in the text. If the text is not clean, nothing leaves.
When the answer comes back, Vera puts the real data back, inside your shielded environment.
Is the check not working, or is the Privacy Shield unavailable? Then Vera sends no document text to external AI models, not even replaced text.
The Privacy Shield works inside Vera. Vera X-Ray works even earlier: on your own computer. X-Ray finds the sensitive data in your document, shows you what it found and sends Vera only what you have approved.

Your Vera environment and the protection of your documents run on servers in the EU. Your question and the shielded text go to the AI models you choose. Those providers may process data outside the EU. Where this page says ‘local’, we mean: inside your shielded Vera environment. Only Vera X-Ray works on your own computer.
We publish the tests we run on Vera: trick questions with a mistake in them, questions about supplied documents, attempts to mislead the AI, and the cases where Vera got it wrong. The raw data is included.
Questions with a wrong starting point, common misconceptions, quotes attributed to the wrong person and rulings that do not exist. Does Vera fall for them, or not?
If a check fails or the models disagree, we show it. A test that only shows successes says little.
Each test comes with the raw data: which models took part, what they improved, what it cost and how it was assessed.
Vera is made for work in which you act on an AI answer. It has to be correct, stay confidential and be traceable later.
Have a draft analysis checked for unsupported claims, vague wording and missing qualifications before you use it in advice or a memo.
Have the reasoning in a draft argument read critically, check the public sources it cites and see which questions you still need to research legally.
Have a report or proposal checked for assumptions, missing information and conclusions that are not well supported, before you decide on it.
Make a report clearer or an explanation easier to understand. Vera helps with the text; the medical judgement stays with you.
Turn your notes into a clear draft report or a well-organised handover, in which observations, interpretations, agreements and open questions are kept apart.
Have property descriptions, letters and summaries of agreements checked for contradictions and unsupported claims before you share them with your client.
Have a draft deed or explanatory note checked for inconsistent wording, unclear references and missing information, alongside your own checks.
These are examples, not a guarantee that the content is professionally correct. For the doctor and the healthcare professional, this is help with text and reporting, not diagnoses or treatment decisions. Vera does not replace your own source research, formal checks or judgement.
Vera keeps as little as possible, keeps customers strictly separated and shows you what happens.
Every customer has their own environment, with its own access rights and its own document permissions. Other customers cannot get in.
A PDF you share in the chat is read on our own GPU server and processed in your own shielded environment, which nobody else can access. If the PDF goes through the Privacy Shield, it is kept in that environment together with the shielded version.
Documents in Vera Office stay in your environment until someone with the right permissions deletes them.
For each question, Vera records which AI provider and which model took part, with which task, which checks took place and what it cost.

Short answers about how Vera checks, what it cannot do, what it costs and how it handles confidential documents.
Have the facts, the reasoning and the sources checked separately, and not by the same AI that gave the answer. Vera does this automatically with several AI models and shows you every improvement, every disagreement and every source. You then decide what to do with the answer.
In Vera, one model writes the answer and other models check it: one checks the facts, one reads it critically and one looks for current sources. That way made-up facts, wrong assumptions and missing sources stand out sooner. Vera does not guarantee that every error is found.
A single AI model often judges its own answer, and then easily overlooks its own mistakes. In Vera, other models check the answer. If they disagree, you see it, instead of one smooth answer with the doubt polished away.
Yes. Vera has an AI answer checked by the models you choose for the conversation. Each model has its own task, such as checking the facts, reading critically or finding sources. What they find shows up in the final answer.
If you switch on the source check, Perplexity looks for current sources for the main claims. The sources and any improvements appear in the overview, so you can see what the final answer is based on.
No. ‘Checked’ means the answer went through the checks you set, and that you can see the improvements, sources and disagreements. Vera does not guarantee that an answer is correct and does not replace your own judgement.
Yes, with the Semantic Privacy Shield. Names and other sensitive data are replaced with placeholders in your shielded Vera environment, and Vera checks the text before an external AI model receives it. If that check fails, no document text is sent.
Then Vera shows it, with the arguments on both sides. That difference is useful information: it shows where the uncertainty lies, so you can weigh it yourself.
Yes, in your own shielded environment, which nobody else can access. Documents in Vera Office stay there until someone with the right permissions deletes them. A PDF you share in the chat that goes through the Privacy Shield is also kept in your environment, together with the shielded version.
Yes. For each conversation you choose which models take part and how thoroughly a question is checked. For each step you see what it costs.
You pay per checked question, not per credit. A question that goes through all the checks counts as one, however many AI models work on it. Starter is free for the first three months, with 10 checked questions per month; after that you choose a paid plan, from € 79.00 per month excluding VAT. If you run out of questions before the end of the month, you buy a bundle or choose a larger plan. All pricing.
Then checking stops and you see a clear message. Nothing is added automatically and you will not get an unexpected bill afterwards. You choose: wait for the new month, buy a bundle of questions or move to a larger plan. Prices are based on average use in your profession, so light and heavy use balance each other out.
Try Vera free for three months, with 10 checked questions per month and the Privacy Shield, in your own shielded environment. No credit card needed.
